Qmail on FreeBSD9 AMD64

Qmail on FreeBSD 9 AMD64 is now working. Basically you need to run the amd64 patch after running the qmail-fix. I have tested this a few times and it works flawlessly!

Qmail-Scanner 2.0 for FreeBSD is done

The qmail-scanner 2.0 walkthrough is completed. I will be updating both the guides to include my custom patch so you won't have to do as many steps. This should be completed before the end of October.

FreeBSD 8 changes in progress

I am working on getting qmail-scanner 2.05 working on FreeBSD 8 and ran into a bit of a snag. I will be changing the users.sh script to make the vpopmail UID and vchkpw GID both UID 89. Qmail-Scanner should work fine once this is tested a few times. Stay tuned.

Qmail on amd64

I have run into an issue where the qmail install does not work on FreeBSD 8 or 9. When I get to the qmail-scanner step it just gives me an error about unzip. At this point the qmail guides will only work with i386.

Maildrop Portupgrade Issue

For those of you updating maildrop there is a hotfix for deliverquota. If you take a look at qmail-send when you update qmail you may see the following:

2012-10-16 11:54:35.073520500 delivery 8: success: /usr/local/bin/deliverquota:_not_found/did_0+0+1/

This is a hotfix for that error:

ln -s /usr/local/bin/maildrop-deliverquota /usr/local/bin/deliverquota

LOTS of changes

Changes are as follows just to summarize all the changes that have been happening the past few months:

The qmail install has been separated into qmail for 8.x and qmail for 9.x Both of which require a different qmail installation method.
Qmail-scanner 1.x has been replaced with qmail-scanner 2.0 in the freebsd port. The port will eventually include an st patch which I am working on with the port maintainer for qmail-scanner.
Dovecot has replaced Courier-imap. Courier dropped vpopmail support a while back. It will only be a matter of time before the courier port drops it as well.
Roundcube has replaced squirrelmail. Roundcube is more visually appealing than squirrelmail in my opinion. Roundcube does require mysql support.
The webify your qmail install has been removed. Roundcube and dovecot are now part of the freebsd 8.x and 9.x guides.
The remaining guides that were in the webify your qmail install are moved to qmail utilities.

Eventually [1] Autoresponder with --ignore-spam will be part of the qmail installations.
